Background
A marketplace that enables customers to sift through a range of cutting-edge and innovative items produced by vetted startups. Launchpad offers new technology, innovative gadgets, electronics, wearable tech, workout, style, and home products.
Challenge
Create a vision for an innovation marketplace for Amazon that sellers and customers love. Designing the visual style to fit within the established Amazon brand but with a fresh unique twist.
Defining the Visual Style
Keywords + Continuums
Keywords were selected during the workshop. The team was encouraged to speak about which keywords would help define the brand. Continuums were established to help align the teams goals and vision for the project.
Designing the Visual Style
Moodboard
Bright pops of color contrast with light neurtals. Sharp geometric angles contrast with soft blurry shadows. Named after the shipping speed, worldwide crosses time and space and is inspired by dimension and movement.
Visual Sketches: Approach
Visual sketching helps test the moodboard. Applying the style to 'imaginary screens' helps define the visual style without the risk of getting too into the weeds with the details.

Screen Designs
The visual style was applied to the homepage to help define the visuals for the rest of the online experience. From left to right, the inventor cards, collection cards, and mini-collection cards.
Expanding the Visual Style
Mini Style Guide
A mini style guide was provided with the final versions of the screens. The intention was to keep the style guide informative but flexible for future growth as secondary pages and features are developed.
